Daily Outfit - 11/20/08

I attended a funeral this morning so it threw off my normal morning routine, including picture taking - hence the bathroom shot with cell phone! The funeral was for a friend/co-worker's brother. He was only 30 and today was his 4th wedding anniversary. It was very sad, but I am glad I could be there to show my support for Jason and his family during this difficult time.

On a happier note, I participated in Oh That Girl's 2nd Accessory Swap this past week and yesterday got my accessories in the mail from Oh That Girl herself. She totally hooked me up, and I scored this great cream scarf and fabulous necklace (see detail below) along with a pretty brooch I am sure to wear soon. It was perfect inspiration for this outfit.

112008

Black Shift Dress - Target, clearance for $15
Black Cardi - NY & Co, sale + coupon for $14
Cream Scarf & Necklace - Accessory Swap!!! (Seriously, you have to do this the next she hosts one - it is so fun!)
Black Diamond Print Tights - Target, ?
Black w/ Cream Box Heels - Payless, $23 (I bought these shoes in Feb 2006 - how do I know because I tucked the receipt in the box!)

Side Note: While I try to live every day to its fullest and let those around me know how much they mean to me events like today really drive home how true that is. Life is precious and should be treated accordingly. Give extra hugs, say extra "I Love Yous" and more - we never know when it will be our last opportunity. With that, THANK YOU so much dear blog readers and buddies. Your kind words, sweet stories, and fun gifties have truly have added so much to my already blessed life.

Aww great post! (especially the last part)... I will be praying for Jason's family...

I love this look! It's so simple, but the scarf transforms it from just a plain black dress... I also like this necklace!
